Every week a group of people
living with HIV/AIDS gets together for mutual support and to make
jewelry out of African beads. Most have either lost their jobs
due to discrimination or are too sick to work the long hours often
necessary to manage a living.
Health
Equity Project is proud to support this sustainable income generating
project. Through the program, participants are able to find support
from others living with HIV/AIDS, help others in need, and enable
themselves to earn their own living with dignity. Moreover, income
generated from jewelry sales allows participants enough money to
buy their medicines and pay for healthcare costs.
